Outreach Ministry

Outreach Ministry’s mission is to “see ourselves heralds of God’s love and to serve those in need. Worship and service are at the heart of the mission.”

The ministry fulfills its mission by organizing events to help collect and distribute food, clothing, school supplies, holiday gifts and limited financial contributions to assist those in immediate need.

Members donate time to the activities of the Outreach Ministry to the best of their ability and schedule. We hold a membership meeting 2 or 3 times a YEAR, sort/deliver for three collections a year, encourage others to participate in giving to the special collections, i.e. Pregnancy Center in February, Veterans in May/June, and oversee the collection/delivery of casseroles for Our Daily Bread.

New members welcome!

Reaching Out to the Pregnancy Center North

Every good and perfect gift comes from above   . . . James 1:17

At the end of Masses NEXT WEEKEND, February 18 and 19, members of the OLG Outreach Ministry will be distributing baby bottles to parishioners to fill with spare change to help support the Pregnancy North, Inc. located at 6805 York Road (21212). If you prefer, support in the form of a check is also appreciated and may be placed in the bottles.

The Pregnancy Center North, Inc. is a non-profit with Catholic roots which assists over 800 women and their unborn children annually. It encourages a reverence for human life as it helps educate women to become responsible, loving, confident mothers. Through the educational incentive component, the pregnancy center offers many items for the babies. For more information about Pregnancy Center North, visit their website at www.PCNministry.org, contact them at (410) 377-2871 or email at info@pcnorth.org.

On the weekend of March 4 and 5, Outreach members will be available before and after Masses to collect your offerings. As always, we thank you for your care and support for others in need.

Thank you

January 2017

To Members of Our Lady of Grace Church,

Please accept our deepest and warmest thank you for your very generous donation of Christmas gifts to the residents here at Genesis Cromwell Center.

Once again, our Christmas party was a success and a warm experience for our residents. With live music, and wonderful treats shared by all. Both Santa and Mrs. Clause arrived to give out the gifts made possible through your generosity.

The holiday season was a joyous one for our residents here at Cromwell Center thanks to all of you.

Sincerely,

Linda Wheatley, Recreation Director, Genesis Cromwell Center

The following Thank you was received from the Assisi House at St. Patrick’s:

Dear Father Michael,

Many thanks to Our Lady of Grace parish for your great kindness to Assisi House. The toys collected for Christmas were a source of much happiness for many needy families. It was so kind of your parishioners to remember the homeless, too, and donate many warm sweatshirts.

The service of Elaine Hagner, Nancy Layman, Barb Williams and Jane Weaver must also be mentioned. They regularly volunteer at  Assist House and delivered those toys and assembled the gifts for each family. Then they even went out shopping for what was lacking! For them and for everyone who contributed to the Christmas project, I am very grateful.

The extraordinary generosity of your parishioners is a sure sign of the presence of God. May this New Year bring ever more grace and joy to your parish.

Sincerely,

Sister Michele Reed

OUTREACH REACHES OUT

‘OLG Food Drive weekend’ is the 3rd weekend of each month. The idea is to add one item to your usual donation. All nonperishable foods are greatly appreciated and if you need some suggestions, think breakfast and lunch: canned fruit, cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, peanut butter and jelly. We will continue to donate our collections to both the Hereford Food Bank and Pine Grove Food Bank.

Donation guidelines: Please check all donations for expiration dates and tampered packaging. Regardless of the monthly theme, any non-perishable food or hygiene items are always appreciated. Hygiene items such as baby diapers, shampoo, soap, disposable razors, laundry detergent are always in demand since these items cannot be purchased with food stamps.

Questions? Please contact either Linda Davidson (410-357-4456) or Kim O’Conor (443-491-3406).
