Outreach Ministry

Outreach Ministry’s mission is to “see ourselves heralds of God’s love and to serve those in need. Worship and service are at the heart of the mission.”

The ministry fulfills its mission by organizing events to help collect and distribute food, clothing, school supplies, holiday gifts and limited financial contributions to assist those in immediate need.

Members donate time to the activities of the Outreach Ministry to the best of their ability and schedule. We hold a membership meeting 2 or 3 times a YEAR, sort/deliver for three collections a year, encourage others to participate in giving to the special collections, i.e. Pregnancy Center in February, Veterans in May/June, and oversee the collection/delivery of casseroles for Our Daily Bread.

New members welcome!

Outreach Reaches Out

Our Daily Bread

On Sunday, June 30th, Our Lady Of Grace delivered 110 “Zippy Beef Casseroles” to Our Daily Bread. Thanks to all who made casseroles and brought them to church on Sunday morning. ODB experiences a drop in donations and volunteers during the summer months so all donations are greatly appreciated!

Thanks to our Knights who made 22 of the casseroles and also donated bread, rolls and cookies A shout out to Elaine and Don Hagner and Theresa Rigley who stayed to help serve. ODB was short of help on this Sunday , so our three volunteers worked extra hard!  Blessings to All!

Baltimore-Appalachia Workcamp

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. The OLG family raised over $1,900 to help defer the costs of the building supplies and materials used on our trip. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. As you heard from the participants and the pictures from Appalachia, the work that we do, both physically and spiritually helped us grow in addition to the people we were working with. Thank you for helping to make this possible. This trip is truly a worthwhile experience for all involved.

As always we are always in need of adults to go on either the Baltimore or Appalachia workcamp trips. Please consider helping us next year, by spending a week of your time with the young people of OLG and the people of Preston County, WV or Baltimore, MD. If you are interested or would like more information please contact Karen Hoffman at (410) 529-4980. If you were on vacation when the OLG group returned from workcamp and would like to make a contribution we’d greatly appreciate it. Please contact Karen Hoffman for further information regarding a donation.

‘OLG Food Drive weekend’ is the 3rd weekend of each month. The idea is to add one item to your usual donation. All nonperishable foods are greatly appreciated and if you need some suggestions, think breakfast and lunch: canned fruit, cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, peanut butter and jelly. We will continue to donate our collections to both the Hereford Food Bank and Pine Grove Food Bank.

Donation guidelines: Please check all donations for expiration dates and tampered packaging. Regardless of the monthly theme, any non-perishable food or hygiene items are always appreciated. Hygiene items such as baby diapers, shampoo, soap, disposable razors, laundry detergent are always in demand since these items cannot be purchased with food stamps.

Questions? Please contact either Linda Davidson (410-357-4456) or Kim O’Conor (443-491-3406).
